Willa
Kalaidjian, 2009 Summer Associate:
“During my seven short but rewarding weeks as a summer clerk at
Litchford & Christopher, I was fortunate to work on a variety of
challenging and stimulating legal projects. From my first day,
the attorneys exposed me to many areas of the law, assigning
substantive and procedural issues for me to analyze and
research. While the work was rigorous, this wide range of
experiences gave me a realistic view of life at the firm.
Litchford & Christopher’s small size allows for a personalized
environment, in which summer associates are trusted with
important projects for the firm’s clients. The firm encourages
independence in its attorneys, and provides new associates the
opportunity to gain meaningful litigation experience faster than
at many large law firms. I felt comfortable approaching the
attorneys with questions and they were eager to offer advice and
constructive feedback on my work.
The accessibility of the attorneys and their willingness to work
with me helped build my confidence and improve my skills moving
forward in my legal career. I particularly appreciated the
firm’s mentoring program. My mentor checked in with me daily,
not only to provide support and advice, but also to get my
opinions on my work load, the types of assignments I was
getting, and general progress. This collegial environment made
me feel welcome and valued.
In my time at Litchford & Christopher, I observed oral arguments
in court, sat in on client meetings, drafted motions, and worked
on a number of cases. I saw firsthand how the firm delivers high
quality representation to its clients, as the attorneys
continually demonstrated their dedication to professionalism and
ingenuity in handling complex litigation matters. I gained
invaluable experience in a short period of time and thoroughly
enjoyed my summer in Orlando.” |
