Keri A.
McGovern, 2008 Summer Associate:
As a summer associate, I received a valuable hands-on
education in the practice of commercial litigation. I was
immediately integrated into the firm’s team of immensely skilled
attorneys and legal professionals, given substantive projects to
handle, and permitted to attend and participate in important
events like depositions and trials. I had the opportunity to
hone my litigation practice skills by working with clients,
developing my legal research skills, and preparing substantive
pleadings, motions, and discovery documents. Litchford &
Christopher’s summer program succeeded at giving me a pragmatic
introduction to life at the firm, with realistic assignments,
deadlines, and working schedules. My summer term at Litchford &
Christopher was undoubtedly one of the most valuable periods in
my early legal career
Now, I practice
with the firm as an associate, and Litchford & Christopher
continues to offer me the practical, intensive litigation
experience that attracted me to the firm from the start. I
manage my own cases as well as routinely work in partnership
with the senior associates and shareholders in the firm to meet
our clients’ diverse needs. From the time I joined the firm, I
was given substantive assignments. My standard practice
includes preparing and arguing motions, conducting legal
research, counseling clients, and participating in pre-trial
preparation activities and alternative dispute resolution
sessions. My work at Litchford & Christopher is everything I
could ask for – sophisticated, challenging, and satisfying.
