Litchford & Christopher was formed
in 1985 by two experienced trial lawyers who shared a vision of
creating a litigation boutique which emphasized excellence in
trial skills and expertise in substantive law to achieve success
for clients efficiently and cost-effectively. Since its
founding, the firm has included attorneys who have achieved
recognition for excellence and expertise by earning “AV” ratings
from Martindale-Hubbell and by listings in peer-reviewed
publications, including Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers:
America and SuperLawyers.
Although Litchford &
Christopher has maintained its size at around 10 attorneys, the
scope of the firm’s litigation practice is broad and diverse.
Our attorneys have tried civil cases to verdict and obtained
emergency injunctive relief in state and federal courts
throughout Florida. Our attorneys have argued scores of appeals
in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the
Florida Supreme Court, and the Florida district courts of
appeal. Our litigation practice has spawned an active business
practice, which includes counseling clients regarding pricing
and distribution issues, preparation of contracts, and
structuring of complex business and real estate transactions.
The firm as a whole
operates as a single, multi-faceted team. Our team concept
enables us to assign attorneys and staff flexibly and to focus
the experience and expertise of individual attorneys where and
when they are needed most. We understand that one size does not
fit all and we work closely with clients to understand and
achieve their unique business and litigation objectives.
Years of experience have taught us
that alternatives to litigation often serve the business
objectives of clients better than litigation does. When
litigation cannot be avoided, we work closely with clients at
the outset of a lawsuit to craft a case strategy from the
pleading stage through trial. This whole-case approach enables
us to anticipate and plan for potential difficulties and to
advise clients regarding litigation risks without
sugar-coating. We are also sensitive to our clients’ needs to
manage legal costs, and we take care to assign matters and tasks
to attorneys commensurate with their experience, but without
sacrificing legal quality.
